2023 Maserati Grecale Folgore-The Maserati Grecale is finally here, after what seemed like an eternity of waiting, and I couldn’t be happier. For the Modena-based automaker, this is an exciting new model.Because the new Maserati Grecale isn’t just another D-segment rival. The SUV also introduces the 2023 Maserati Grecale Folgore, the Trident brand’s first-ever all-electric car. The Folgore moniker (which means “lightning” in Italian) alludes to all-electric cars from the Trident brand, with production beginning in 2024.A zero-emission powertrain will be available for the Grecale as well. The Folgore, like the Grecale SUV, is designed for everyday use with Maserati performance but zero emissions. Instead of employing the new electric platform developed by Stelantis. The Grecale is built on a modified version of the Giorgio platform, which also supports the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. There are some clear visual variations between the Grecale and the gas-powered Grecale, as shown in these spyshots.

Maserati appears to have played it safe with the Folgore’s exterior appearance, which isn’t always a negative thing. The general shape of the gas automobile has been carried through. The Folgore, on the other hand, has a concave closed-off grille, which Maserati refers to as a frame, and different styled air intakes on the bumper, all of which are highlighted by a glossy black decorative decal. While style is subjective, I find the overall appearance of Maserati’s baby SUV to be significantly more appealing. The Folgore symbol adorns the fenders, and a new trident logo, first seen on the MC20 supercar, now graces the rear pillar. The turbo alloy wheels are aerodynamic and nearly totally enclosed.

Maserati hasn’t released any photographs of the Grecale Folgore’s interior yet, but the digital dashboard and center console are expected to remain mostly unchanged. MIA, which stands for Maserati Intelligent Assistant, should also be carried over. The sustainability component of the new Grecale Folgore was highlighted by the Italian brand. This is due to the company’s use of “Econyl,” a new environmentally friendly material manufactured from recycled fishing nets.

The range and performance were not specified, although two electric motors might provide around 500 kW (250 kW per axle), or 680 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. To save energy, one of the motors, most likely the front one, might be removed, giving the SUV totally two-wheel drive. The time it takes to go from zero to sixty-two miles per hour should be in the three-second range, give or take. The vehicle comes equipped with four-wheel drive as standard. The Folgore will have a 105 kWh battery (the brand hasn’t said if this is the net or useable capacity). Because the battery pack is 400 volts, charging will be slower than the 800-volt Macan Electric. On a single charge, this battery should be able to travel up to 434 miles.

2023 Maserati Grecale Folgore Price & Release date

While the Grecale GT, Modena, and Trofeo versions will be available in the United States by 2023, the Grecale Folgore will not be available until 2024. If the Grecale does actually reach 500 kW, it will overtake the Audi E-Tron S (370 kW), Mercedes-Benz EQC400 (300 kW), and Tesla Model Y Performance in the mid-size luxury electric SUV category (393 kW).With the standard Grecale costing $65,000, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Folgore costs a few thousand dollars more.
