The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq, an all-electric midsize SUV with a range of 300 miles on a single charge, is the first step toward achieving that target. Exterior
A question was raised during the unveiling of the new Cadillac as to why engineers and designers used conventional shapes and proportions for the Lyriq when a clean-sheet approach would have allowed Cadillac to develop something completely new, free of established stylistic idioms. Nonetheless, with a tall hood, a quick and streamlined roofline, and sensuous swells along the flanks, the Lyriq is a very adventurous SUV. Where a grille would normally go, a “black-crystal” panel is installed, incorporating welcome and running lights as well as an illuminated Cadillac symbol. The lighting sequences as the owner approaches, and the Lyriq display car dazzles even more with gigantic 22-inch wheels.Cadillac claims that some of these design elements will appear in future Cadillac steeds.
Interior
As one would expect in a high-end luxury SUV, the 4-passenger Lyriq demonstration vehicle features various alto palato design references on the inside. Cadillac uses high-end materials and calming lighting effects, such as a light-up Cadillac crest on the steering wheel and backlit door panels, to emotionally connect you to the Lyriq. The cabin, on the other hand, is dominated by a gigantic 33-inch curved digital instrumentation and infotainment display that spans nearly the whole dashboard. A large, separate infotainment module is also available for each rear passenger.
