2023 BMW X7 Exterior
With a revised front fascia that incorporates split front lighting, where the top housing features the LED daytime running lights and the lower housing fits the LED low and high beams, the refreshed X7 is easily distinguished from the model from the previous year. It also wears BMW’s newest styling cues. The back features some modest tweaks and a new compact LED taillight design.The X7 is somewhat bigger than the Audi Q7 and roughly the same size as a Mercedes-Benz GLS, measuring 203.3 inches long and 78.7 inches wide.
2023 BMW X7 Interior
It’s difficult to miss the new 14.9-inch curved touchscreen display. It features natural voice recognition, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM connectivity, navigation, a 5G Wi-Fi Hotspot, BMW’s remote connected services, and phone-as-key, which can detect an iPhone’s motion within six feet to unlock the doors, cue the welcome lighting, and start the vehicle. It runs the most recent version of BMW infotainment software (once inside). For $4,200, Bowers & Wilkens is selling a premium sound system that includes 20 speakers (20 total), 10 channels, and 1,500 watts of power. The $1,850 Premium package now includes a mid-range sound system.
The X7 can accommodate six people with the optional captain’s chairs ($850) or seven people with the second-row bench seat. The Lexus LX is the only competitor with third-row legroom that exceeds its meager 37.6 inch measurement. The cargo area behind the third row is also relatively small, measuring 12.8 cubic feet, but it can be expanded to 48.6 cubic feet with the third row folded and 90.4 cubic feet with both rows folded, which are the best in class. There is more inside space only in the much larger Escalade.
2023 BMW X7 Engine
The xDrive40i and the M60i are the two trim levels for the BMW X7. The 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine in the xDrive40i has been modified to produce 375 horsepower and up to 398 pound-feet of torque when combined with the electricity from a 48V mild hybrid system with adaptive brake energy recovery. The M60i (formerly M50i) receives a brand-new, 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 engine that is dubbed a “real M engine.” 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque are produced, and a mild hybrid system is also included in the powertrain. A new eight-speed transmission that delivers quicker shifts and greater synchronization with the electrically driven systems is included in both variants.
2023 BMW X7 Price & release date
With a forecasted starting price of $77,850 MSRP for the X7 xDrive40i and $103,100 MSRP for the X7 M60i, the 2023 BMW X7 is scheduled to go on sale in late 2022.
